The Largest well at Olkaria Geothermal Field

KenGen has discharged its largest well (OW-921A) todate.  The well was at Olkaria Domes area.  The well discharges 178t/hr of steam equivalent to about 24.7MW and produces about 207 t/hr of brine equivalent to 5.4 MW.  The well was drilled directionally and is one of 3 wells drilled on a single pad. The other two wells are yet to be discharged to compare their productivity. The largest previously drilled well was about 18MW in the same Olkaria Domes field where Olkaria IV power station is located.
